Points to note
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): 75 questions, 300 marks (100 per subject).
Negative marking applies in both Section A (MCQ) and Section B (numerical value answers).
If a question is dropped, NTA gives +4 to all candidates; the final answer key decides this.
JEE Main uses percentile (NTA score) for ranks, not raw marks, so the same marks can mean different percentiles in different shifts.
Each correct answer gets +4 marks and each wrong answer -1 mark. Unanswered questions get 0. The paper has 75 questions for 300 marks. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): 75 questions, 300 marks (100 per subject).
How do I calculate my JEE Main score from the answer key?
Match your responses with the official answer key. Count the correct and wrong answers in each section and enter them above. Score = (correct x 4) - (wrong x 1). Questions you left blank are not counted.
Is this my final JEE Main score?
It is an estimate from the answer key. Your final score can change after the final answer key, for example if a question is dropped or has more than one correct option. Always check the official result.
