Tamil Nadu NMMS

The Tamil Nadu National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship, popularly known as Tamil Nadu NMMS, is a state-level scholarship examination conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu under the centrally-sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme. The exam identifies meritorious students from economically weaker sections studying in Class 8 in government and government-aided schools for the award of scholarships payable from Class 9 to Class 12, helping reduce dropouts at the secondary stage. Conducted once a year in offline mode, the selection test generally includes a Mental Ability Test (MAT) and a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) based on the syllabus studied up to Class 8.
