The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the UGC. UGC NET is held to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor, for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and for admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
