IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

  • Preliminary Exam: 100 questions, 60 minutes. Three sections - English Language (30 Q, 20 min), Numerical Ability (35 Q, 20 min), Reasoning Ability (35 Q, 20 min). Qualifying in nature.
  • Main Exam: 190 questions, 160 minutes. Four sections - General/Financial Awareness (50 Q, 35 min), General English (40 Q, 35 min), Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude (50 Q, 45 min), Quantitative Aptitude (50 Q, 45 min).
  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in both exams.
  • Sectional cutoffs apply in addition to overall cutoff.

  • Age: 20 to 28 years (with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen as per government rules).
  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university or institution; proficiency in the official language of the state/UT applied for is preferred.

  • Computer literacy is desirable.
