WBJEEB will conduct the WBJEE 2020 counselling for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination qualified candidates. It is expected to take place in June, though may get postponed if results get further delayed. The process involves candidates to first register at wbjeeb.nic.in, fill and lock the choices, download the provisional admission letter, appear for the verification at reporting centres and then, finally go to the allotted colleges for admission in the respective courses. The allocation of seats is done according to the General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) declared in the WBJEE 2020 result. WBJEE 2020 Counselling: Schedule and Latest Details
It is to be noted that the registration for the counselling is done one time only. So, candidates need to register within the deadline as no fresh registration are permitted in the second or third round of counselling. WBJEE 2020 Cut Off and Opening – Closing Ranks
Every year, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board releases the opening and closing ranks of the participating institutes, This is also known as the cutoff scores for WBJEE. The candidates who gets the minimum qualifying marks according to the marks indicated are required to then take part in the counselling process. WBJEE 2020 Counselling Registration and Fee

The first which all the qualified candidates need to do after qualifying WBJEE 2020 is the registration at the official website. The candidates have to carefully register by entering the details like roll number, category, etc. Enter the details carefully as the details once entered cannot be changed again.
How to Register for WBJEE 2020 Counselling?
Step 1: Access the link given above.
Step 2: Next, select the options from which you want to apply (WBJEE rank / JEE rank / both).
Step 3: After following the step above, enter the details like roll number, category, domicile state etc.
Step 4: Then, submit all the details and sign the declaration.
Step 5: After signing the declaration, enter the choices of colleges and then lock the choice by clicking on ‘save and continue’ button.
Step 6: Lastly, pay the required registration fee.
Counselling registration fee: The registration fee is Rs 500 according to the previous year. It can be submitted through debit card / credit card / net banking.
Choice Filling and Locking
After the payment, the candidates are required to lock the choices of the colleges in which they want to take admission. After saving the choices, the candidates are required to take the print-out of the choice submitted. If the registered candidates do not lock the choices, then, the system automatically locks the choices.
Some Important Points for WBJEE 2020 Online Choice Filling
Candidates can refer to the points given below while filling the choices of colleges.
- The choices for colleges are shown according to the GMR and PMR rank or both.
- The candidates are required to submit single set of choice even though, they are eligible for both.
- The choice filling is allowed at the starting of first round of counselling only. No fresh choices of counselling have to be filled at the starting second and third counselling rounds.
- The candidates are free to choose as many choices of colleges as they want from the list of available colleges.

WBJEE 2020 Seat Allotment Result
After submitting the choices of colleges, the candidates are allotted seats according to their preferences. Other factors considered at the time of allotment of seats are the performance of the candidates in WBJEE 2020 and the availability of the seats at the selected college. There are total 3 rounds of seat allotment. The candidates need to check their seat allotment from the official website by entering their login credentials.
Payment of provisional admission fee: After checking the seat allotment result, the candidates need to pay the provisional admission fee and take a printout of the submission of the fee.
Physical Reporting at the Reporting Centres
After the fee payment, the online process of counselling comes to an end and the candidates are required to appear for the counselling at the designated reporting centers for the document verification, to receive a provisional admission letter or to get an upgradation option.
What is Change of Willingness in WBJEE 2020 Counselling?
This option is for the candidates who have taken the provisional admission in the 1st round. The candidates can change their willingness from “YES” upgradation to “NO” upgradation after the second round of allotment. For doing this, the candidates need to report at the reporting centres where the admission was taken. The change in the options can be done by following the process given below:
- Submit the provisional admission letter received in the 1st round of counselling
- Then, fill in and sign the option form
- After following the step above, the candidates will be issued a modified letter.
Important note: The candidates cannot change the option ‘NO’ to ‘YES’.
What are the Documents Required for WBJEE 2020 Counselling?
At the time of physical reporting at the reporting centres, the candidates need to carry the original as well as photocopies of the documents for verification. Check the list of the documents given below.

- 10th class marksheets and certificates
- 12th class marksheet and certificates

WBJEE 2020 Submission of Admission Fee at the Reporting Centres

Rounds for WBJEE 2020 Counselling
The Board conducts 3 rounds for WBJEE 2020 counselling. Check the functioning of different rounds given below.
First round of counselling
The candidates who get admission for the first time in any of the three round of allotment are required to report at the reporting centres. They are required to submit their documents and pay the seat acceptance fee. Then, the candidates have to sign a decalaration. If the candidates select no upgradation, then, the candidates will not be allowed to take part in further rounds of counselling.
Second Round of Counselling
In the second round, the choices of colleges filled during the starting of the counselling are considered.
Who is eligible for second counselling?
- Group I – The candidates who did not get any seats in the first round.
- Group II – The candidates who were allotted seats in the first round but their allotted seat was cancelled due to non-fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
- Group III – The candidates who reported at the centres and completed all the admission process but selected ‘YES’ an option for upgradation.
Who is not eligible for Round 2?
- Those candidates who did not report at the centre after the first allotment.
- Those candidates who reported and withdrawn from the admission.
- The candidates who became non-eligible because of not submitting the proper set of documents
Third round of counselling
In the third round of counselling, those candidates can appear whose seat was cancelled, those candidates who did not get admission in the earlier rounds and those candidates who opted for upgradation.
The conversion of seats takes place after the completion of third round only.
Difference between Reported Centres and Allotted Institutes
The reported centres is the place where the qualified candidates have to report with their documents and get the provisional admission letter.
On the other hand, allotted institutes are the institutes where the candidates have finally taken the admission in their respective courses. The allotted institutes accepts the admission letter of the candidates who have reported at the reporting centres and have opted for No- degradation.

About WBJEE 2020
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is an entrance examination conducted to grant admission to students in courses like B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm. The examination is conducted in the offline mode. It is a state-level entrance test. There are two papers for the engineering courses, Paper 1 is for Mathematics and Paper 2 is for Physics and Chemistry.
