Railway Recruitment Boards may have to further delay conducting the RRB NTPC 2019-2020 first stage computer based test. Until last month media accounts were firm that exam date will be announced in January and exam will be in February. However now, reports are coming in that suggest that Indian Railways is yet to finalize the exam conducting agency. And until the agency is decided, rest of the processes of the exam such as pinning exam centers and deciding exam dates are getting pushed back day by day.
What is going to be the RRB NTPC Exam Date 2020?
Latest reports indicate that exam will be in March. By February, exam date announcement is anticipated. However it is all as per media reports only, and even there, no official has made any statement.
As far as official news is concerned, all the RRBs are quiet about what is happening in the railway recruitment. Two of the biggest recruitment of the year, RRB Non Technical Popular Categories recruitment against RRB CEN 01/2019, and RRC Group D recruitment against RRC CEN 01/2019 were supposed to be held in June-September months and September to October months last year. 1.26 crore candidates have applied for the former, and 1.15 crore have applied for the latter.
Why is Indian Railways not announcing NTPC exam date?
The answer to this question can be best explained in 3 reasons.
First is that the Railway Recruitment Board itself cannot comment on the exam date until the testing agency is confirmed, a process that is not entirely in its hands to rush.
Second is that deciding upon the exam agency is a very delicate matter… This agency will have to handle examination process for over 2 crore candidates, they will have to ensure that there is no paper leak or mishaps. Even cases of re-exam will have to be handled if need arises due to circumstances beyond its control. Perhaps for this reason, the board and Indian Railways is putting in a lot of efforts to get a suitable body.
And third point to note is the large number of applicants. Exactly 3 recruitment are pending right now. RRB NTPC CEN 1/2019 for 35,208 vacancies, for which total applicants are 1,26,30,885. RRB Ministerial CEN 3/2019 for 1,663 vacancies for which 1,02,940 have applied. And finally RRB Group D RRC CEN 01/2019 for 1,03,769 vacancies, against which, 1,15,67,248 applied. So arrangements have to be made for 2,53,64,710 candidates (more than 2.5 crores). To finalise exam dates and other aspects of such a large scale exam is taking time.
