AIIMS PG 2020 for the July session admission stands postponed. Also, the latest news is that the status of final registration, which was supposed to release on April 14, 2020, has been delayed. The medical entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, DM (6 yrs), M.Ch (6 yrs), MDS courses was supposed to be held on May 3, 2020. However due to the COVID-19 outbreak, All India Institute of Medical Sciences has decided to hold off the exam until further assessment of the situation.
AIIMS PG 2020 Final Registration Status Postponed
All India Institute of Medical Sciences was supposed to release the status of final registration today, ie April 14, 2020. However in view of the COVID-19 situation and lockdowns because of it, the event is being postponed. As of now, there is no hint of what the next date can be.

In view of the developing situation related to COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown, the status of Final Registration schedule for 14th April, 2020 stands postponed. The revised date will be notified in due course of time. Please visit the website www.aiimsexams.org as all Important Notices/Corrigendum/ Addendum /Updates etc. will only be uploaded on the website.
ll candidates who did final registration can see the status of their final registration from aiimsexams.org as and when it is released now. Only those whose status says accepted, will be able to download admit card.
AIIMS PG 2020 Exam Postponed
AIIMS New Delhi published the official notice on exam postponement on March 25, 2020. As of now there is no official update on when the new exam date will be announced. It is expected to happen after the end of lockdown.
AIIMS PG 2020 Exam Date
All India Institute of Medical Sciences will conduct the AIIMS PG July 2020 exam on a single day, in a single shift. Whereas initially the exam was supposed to be held on May 3, 2020, it has now been postponed and the new date will be available soon. As soon as AIIMS announces the date, or there is any news report on it, it will be updated here.

AIIMS PG 2020 Admit Card
All candidates who apply for the exam and their registration is accepted, must download the AIIMS PG admit card 2020 before the exam. The dates for downloading admit card are as per the final decision of AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates need to download the hall ticket from aiimsexams.org only. They will not be sent the document by post, and they also cannot collect it in hard copy form from the college itself.
How to download AIIMS PG admit card July 2020?
- Go to AIIMS MD/MS/DM/M.Ch/MDS 2020 candidate login. Click here.
- Enter registration id, registration unique code, password, captcha.
- Hit the login button.
- On the candidate dashboard, locate the admit card download link and download the admit card.
If there is any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates need to inform the Assistant Controller of Examinations AIIMS, New Delhi through email.
Through the admit card for AIIMS PG 2020, candidates will know the exam centre assigned, as well as roll number.
AIIMS PG 2020 Exam Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Mode of exam: AIIMS PG 2020 will be a computer based test.
Language of exam: All questions will be in English language.
Type of questions: All questions will be multiple choice questions. They will further be divided in the following types of questions.

- AIIMS MD/MS entrance exam will have questions from topics taught at MBBS level.
- AIIMS MDS entrance exam will have questions from topics taught at BDS level.
Total number of questions: There will be 200 MCQs in AIIMS MD/MS, and AIIMS MDS entrance exam.

AIIMS is conducting AIIMS PG July 2020 exam tentatively in 56 cities in India. The cities are divided between states. And the states are segregated into zones. There are 8 zones in all.

AIIMS PG 2020 Cut Off (Qualifying Marks)
Candidates who get at least 50th percentile will be declared as qualified in the exam. That is only they will get a rank.
AIIMS PG 2020 Result and Merit List
For the purpose of result, candidates’ performance in the AIIMS PG 2020 entrance exam will be considered. Their marks in the exam, as per number of correct and incorrect answers will be used to determine their percentile for AIIMS PG result. Then on the percentile, AIIMS will apply tie breaking and then announce the rank.
- Candidate with more marks in MBBS / BDS will get a better rank.
- One who is older in age will get a better rank.
In AIIMS PG 2020 result, there are different merit lists for overall ranking, and category wise.
AIIMS PG 2020 Counselling
The number of candidates who are called for counselling for AIIMS PG 2020 equals 8 times the number of seats in that category.
First there is mock counselling, and then then the actual counselling.
At the time of joining, candidates must bring their original documents.
Selected candidates will also undergo medical examination.

About Junior Residents in AIIMS New Delhi
- Junior resident in AIIMS has to be on contract service for 3 years.
- Academic section will retain the original documents. And it will be returned only on completing course, or paying Rs 3 lakh once seat is confirmed even if he/she does not join.
- Those who join MD/MS/MDS or MCh / 6 yrs DM and leave within 6 months need to pat Rs 3 lakh.
- Those who leave after 6 months need to pay Rs 5 lakh. Also they will not get salary for the month they resign.
- For AIIMS Jodhpur, MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCH candidates who leave course during counselling have to pay Rs 3 lakh and after last date of joining of last/open counselling have to pay Rs 5 lakh.
Junior residents and Demonstrators (JR/D) will get Rs 15600 + Rs 5400 grade pay with entry pay of Rs 56,100 per month, plus NPA and other allowances for a tenure of 3 years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there institutional preference for AIIMS graduates, for PG admissions?
Yes. Candidates who have studied (graduated) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi will get preferred for admission for 50% seats in the college. Likewise those who are from other AIIMS will get preferential allotment in their AIIMS institutes. However at the end of the counselling if seats remain in this section, then that will go to general category students.
Who can apply for AIIMS MD/MS entrance exam and AIIMS MDS entrance exam?
Candidates with MBBS degree can appear in the MD/MS entrance exam, and those with BDS can appear in the MDS entrance exam. Plus, candidates should have completed their 12 months rotating internship by the cut off date.
How to prepare for AIIMS PG?
The first step in preparation is studying well during MBBS / BDS. Second step is to pay attention to all work during internship. And third is specific preparation for the exam which includes practising AIIMS PG question bank, sample papers and taking mock tests for it.
Does AIIMS officially provide previous year question papers of AIIMS PG entrance exam?
No, AIIMS does not publish previous year question paper. However, after the exam, coaching centres release compilation of memory based paper and the same is available in books available in the market. Candidates can use those to prepare.
How many times is the AIIMS PG entrance exam held?
AIIMS holds the PG entrance exam twice a year. First for the January session admissions, and second for July session admissions.

Editing Final Registration
In a given period of time, candidates can edit certain details filled during final registration. However at this time, they cannot edit what they filled in basic registration.
Details that can be edited after closing of final registration: Course applied for, Applied under which category, subject / institute choice, qualifying exam details, academic details, internship details, medical registration details.
Details that cannot be edited after closing of final registration: Name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, marital status, category, PWBD status, nationality, id proof details, identification mark, registered email id, registered mobile number, alternate mobile number, address, declaration, photograph, signature, category, fee payment, city choice.
AIIMS New Delhi releases the registration status at the candidate login of AIIMS MD/MS/DM/M.Ch/MDS entrance exam 2020 official website. They have to login with registration id, RUC, password in order to check the same. After logging in, candidates need to click the ‘Registration Status’ tab of their ‘My Page’ after login. Only such candidates whose registration is accepted, will get the AIIMS PG 2020 admit card.
