Entrepreneurship Summit-2010 commences at DTU

The two-day Summit was inaugurated today by renowned actor Mr. Rahul Bose along with Mr. S.S. Khurana, Chairman, Indian Railway Board, Mr. Vipul Saurabh, National Head, Operations and Customer Support, Aircel India and Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU Entrepreneurship Summit-2010 (E-Summit), the annual summit organized "for the entrepreneur who lives within us all" at Delhi Technological University (DTU), witnessed an unusual guest on its inaugural day, renowned actor and social activist Mr. Rahul Bose. The two-day summit organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of DTU was inaugurated today by Mr. Bose along with Mr. S.S. Khurana, Chairman, Indian Railway Board, Mr. Vipul Saurabh, National Head, Operations and Customer Support, Aircel India and Prof. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU.
Addressing a packed audience, Mr. Bose spoke about the realistic way to be super happy for rest of our lives. He said, "We may realize what we are good at but we need to discover what we are magical at. And once we realize that and follow our dreams with utmost passion, we will be happy both from outside as well as within." Delivering the Leadership Lecture, Mr. Khurana informed that Railways encourage entrepreneurs and is a good market for those associated with related industries. "Almost Rs 10,000 crores of varied material is supplied to the Railways by ancillary industries and several of them are entrepreneurial ventures. So, there is a good market in the form of Railways for those who want to go for entrepreneurship," he said.
In his presentation on 'Leadership and Entrepreneurship', Mr. Saurabh said, "A leader is the one who leads from the heart and also have an intuitive brain and is therefore, able to make an impact. A similarity between a leader and an entrepreneur is that they both follow their heart."
Day one of the Summit also included panel discussions on Encouraging Entrepreneurship for Rural Development, and Future of Telecommunications Industry (3G and beyond) which was participated by Mr. Bharat Bhatia, distinguished alumni of DTU and Regional Director, Motorola India, Mr. Harish Gandhi, Executive Director, Canaan Partners (Venture Capitalist) and Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman, Cybermedia Group, besides a Green Energy Competition, where students from across the country competed with their ideas on making Earth a better place to live in. Highlighting the significance of the summit, Prof. Sharma said, "The E-Summit 2010 at DTU is an endeavour to create new-age entrepreneurs, who besides protecting the interest of man and nature will achieve highest level of quality and productivity. We need to create euphoria of entrepreneurship for all in our country so as to manifest the rich innovative potential of our young and talented student community."
Tomorrow, E-Summit has a Leadership Lecture lined up by Dr. Kiran Bedi, Former IPS Officer & Chairperson, India Vision Foundation, besides interactive sessions with Mr. Sanjay Nayar, CEO & Country Head, KKR India Advisors Private Limited and Mr. Chetan Bhagat, well-known author and a panel discussion on 'Renewable Energy - Challenges and Opportunities versus Climate Change - Dealing with the Damage', among other activities.

I think this summit has given a great platforms for all the young aspirants to get the deep insights of becoming and entrepreneur from the scholars.
